Second Graders Greet the Troops
![]() |
Since the war in Iraq began, Mrs. Rozier’s second graders have taken an annual field trip to DFW airport to greet the troops coming home from Iraq. Mrs. Rozier became involved in this effort shortly after her nephew was killed in Iraq in 2003. |
| The USO has a program for individuals and groups to welcome home the men and women who faithfully served our country. This year, 30 second graders and their parents went on this exciting trip. After all the soldiers exited the plane, students had an opportunity to go outside the gate and visit with them and collect their autographs. The students had a short program just before leaving school where they sang patriotic songs, recited the Pledge of Allegiance and listened to OCS alumnus Jessie Law speak about his time in Iraq. |

OCS continually encourages our students to be proud Americans and support their great nation. We feel like this is one of the ways we can do this. The students and teachers were blessed by the trip.
