The Ovilla Christian School Yearbook Staff does more than build a yearbook. Staffers learn to work as a team developing a product (including writing stories, taking photos, organizing layout and design), and together set goals, manage deadlines, coordinate sales, and overcome stress! It is a hands-on learning experience in which the students are responsible for a 136-page product distributed to the whole student body depicting the entire school year!
Yearbook adviser Angel Morris has been working in the publications field for almost 30 years – ever since she joined her own high school yearbook staff. An award-winning yearbook editor, Mrs. Morris went on to serve on the yearbook staff of The University of Texas at Austin where she earned her bachelors of journalism degree. The majority of her career has been in newspaper and magazine reporting and design, but she also served as a journalism instructor and newspaper/yearbook adviser at a large public school and a private school prior to joining OCS.
Mrs. Morris is excited about sharing her experience with the budding journalists, photographers and designers of the OCS yearbook staff!
