Bob Yttredahl leads the Middle and Upper School faculty and students. The Middle School Coordinator and Upper School Coordinator function under his direction. He is a beloved figure in the upstairs hallway and has it made a personal mission to meet students where they are and help them strive to reach their full potential.

In his 24 years in education, Mr. Yttredahl has served in many roles including as Head of Upper School, Dean of Faculty, Boys Basketball Coach, and Athletic Director. He grew up in Iowa and received a B.S. in English and Secondary Education from Wayne State College. He is a proud life-long Cyclone. He attended Iowa State and worked at their summer basketball camps. After moving to the Dallas area, he earned his master’s in Educational Leadership from SMU.

Mr. Yttredahl believes it is important not to simply be a fan of Christianity but to be an active member of the church in order to grow in relationship with Christ. This is how a Christian grows in faith and knowledge of Jesus. “For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For whoever lacks these qualities is so nearsighted that he is blind, having forgotten that he was cleansed from his former sins.” (2 Peter 1:5–9 ESV)

Mr. Yttredahl has a son, RJ, and a daughter, Becca. He enjoys reading, working outside, and watching Iowa State. He spends his free time attending his son’s basketball games and daughter’s volleyball games. He is a member of Ovilla Road Baptist Church.
