The Lower School of Ovilla Christian School will provide
opportunities and routines to develop habits as well as
the foundational knowledge and skills to love learning and
to know God’s plan of redemption through His Word.

Our Lower School (K–grade 5) boasts an excellent faculty who maintain teaching certification from the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). All faculty members are born-again Christians from a variety of church backgrounds with genuine faith in Jesus Christ in common. They have demonstrated their calling and equipping for Christian education in the following three areas: having demonstrated the foundation of genuine faith in Christ, having been called to the ministry of Christian Education, and holding the necessary educational credentials to support that call.

Upon the conclusion of Lower School, a student will:

demonstrate the habits of a good student.
express mastery of foundational knowledge and skills, including:
- a robust sense of numbers;
- memorization of basic math facts;
- mathematical fluency;
- application of basic literacy skills—reading, writing, listening, speaking, discussion, and thinking;
- reading fluency;
- reading comprehension;
- and the ability to read and write in both print and cursive.

read God's Word with a foundation of basic biblical literacy.

know that identity is clearly defined by the Creator God.
